Wedding Tips
Here are some wedding tips that apply for almost any size wedding.
- Confirm, confirm, confirm – This is essential. There should be no assume it’s taken care of in wedding planning. Make sure you get everything you can in writing, and call to confirm periodically, specifically a month before to make sure all of the details are clear between you and your vendors.
- Lasting Memories – If you are going to skimp on anything in the budget, the two things you do not want to do this with is your wedding photos and videos. These are going to be the lasting memories of a once in a lifetime event between you and your spouse. You do not want to take chances with these two services at your wedding. Also, be sure that, beforehand, you look at other wedding photography and videos, get an idea of what you like and dislike, and share it with your vendors, that way you get exactly what you want.
- The Week Before – Do not plan to get anything other than wedding and honeymoon related tasks done in the week before the wedding. No matter how well planned your event is, always leave some extra time to deal with last minute issues and schedule changes that arise.
- Eating and the Time Between Fittings and the Big Day – The time between when you purchase your wedding dress, the final fittings, and the big day itself can span weeks. If your wedding dress fits perfectly on the day you buy it, figure out what size you are at that stage and stay there. If you gain or lose weight before the final fitting, you are going to be looking at some costly alterations. If you gain or lose weight between those alterations and the big day, you are ultimately going to find yourself in an uncomfortable dress for hours on end. The safest bet – get something with laceable corset bodice.
- Mother Nature – If your wedding or reception is outdoors, do not assume that Mother Nature is always willing to co-operate with your plans. Especially during a windy season. Make sure that all of your decorations, down to your cake topper, are blow-away proof. And, if it’s a small wedding, give yourself peace of mind and book a hotel suite nearby the locale. You can get ready there, and move the events in there in case of bad weather.
